1973 Volkswagen Thing

Rare find!! 1800 original miles documented ownership and records

This car is in excellent condition! It was put in storage right after purchase and stayed there for 32 years. At the story goes, the owner was driving it home from the dealer in Missouri to Denver. He had a little fender bender on the way. He had an estimate made for the repair of $120. Instead of fixing it he put the car in storage and forgot about it for 32 years. Incurring storage payments of over $19K, records that we have verified! He finally sold it to a friend and they got it on the road. They had the dent fixed, had a complete paint job done. The paint is nice, not concourse and very presentable. He also had someone get it running and did not do the car justice.
That is when we came into the story. The new owner brought it to us to get running properly. The the engine had a racing cam in it and did not run well at all. We removed the engine, dissembled it, and built it to factory specks. The engine block and all components are original to the car. The cam shaft and bearings are new. We found an NOS exhaust and EGR to put it back to factory specks. The brake wheel cylinders have been replaced too. There is no rust, the floor pans are perfect still with the factory paint. The side curtains were missing and the been replaced. The top and interior are all original.

The car drives like new!! Good luck finding another like this find!!!
